Urgent Care

Urgent care services are very similar to human urgent care in that they offer appointments for non-life-threatening conditions that need prompt attention but aren't severe enough to go to the ER or can't wait until your general practitioner or your general veterinarian is open.

What is considered urgent care?

Urgent care services are very similar to human urgent care in that they offer appointments for non-life-threatening conditions that need prompt attention but aren't severe enough to go to the ER or can't wait until your general practitioner or your general veterinarian is open. So, examples include vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, minor cuts, and wounds. As far as emergency services go, those are for more life-threatening conditions that need immediate, cannot wait attention. So, hit by a car, broken bones, toxicities, things like that, that require immediate intervention.

What should I bring when I bring my pet for an urgent care appointment?

The most important thing is to obviously bring yourself and your pet, but a lot of times, you may be coming from a different practice, and we may not have seen you before, so we don't have your records. So bring any medical records that you have, and know any and all medications that your pet is taking.

Urgent care is by appointment; please call us to schedule.

Appointments are filled on a first call, first-served basis, and when they are full, you may be referred to the nearest ER or scheduled for the first thing the next available urgent care day. There is an additional charge for Urgent Care exams, even for our clients with wellness plans.
